# Xi's Multiversion UI Lib

> The library mod behind the in-game menus of Xichil's mods. Install the jar for your loader next to the mods that need it.

URL: https://xichil.dev/wiki/xis-mvui/v1/ · Updated: 2026-11-06 · Applies to: Fabric, Quilt, Legacy Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, MC 1.7.10 - 26.3

Xi's Multiversion UI Lib (mod id `xis_mvui`) draws the in-game menus of mods that depend on it, on every
Minecraft version from 1.7.10 to 26.3 and on Fabric, Quilt, Legacy Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. On its own it adds
nothing to the game: install it when a mod you use needs it.

- **Client-side.** Servers don't need it. Installed on a server, it does nothing.
- **One jar per loader family**, not one per Minecraft version.
- **Menus look like vanilla** on every version, because the library draws them with that version's own buttons,
  sliders and text fields.
- **One broken menu doesn't break the rest.** If a mod's menu fails, only that menu turns off until the next
restart; the game and every other mod's menu keep working.

## Install

Put the jar for your loader in your `mods` folder, next to the mods that use it:

| Jar | Loaders and versions |
| --- | --- |
| `xis_mvui-<version>-fabric.jar` | Fabric and Quilt 1.14 – 26.3 |
| `xis_mvui-<version>-legacyfabric.jar` | Legacy Fabric 1.7.10 – 1.13.2 |
| `xis_mvui-<version>-forge-1.7.10.jar` | Forge 1.7.10 |
| `xis_mvui-<version>-forge-1.8-1.12.2.jar` | Forge 1.8 – 1.12.2 |
| `xis_mvui-<version>-modlauncher.jar` | Forge 1.13.2 – 26.3, NeoForge 1.20.1 – 26.3 |

## Finding a mod's menu

- **Options screen:** a new button. With one mod's menu installed it carries that mod's label (for example
"My Mod..."); with several it reads **Mod menus...** and opens a list of every mod's menu.
- **The mod list's Config button:** on Forge and NeoForge, and on Fabric and Quilt with Mod Menu installed.

[Using mod menus](https://xichil.dev/wiki/xis-mvui/v1/guides/using-menus/index.md) explains every control you will meet in these menus.
